In 1844, Lysander Spooner decided he’d had enough of the government’s bloated monopoly and did what any self-respecting anarchist would do—he built his own mail service. The American Letter Mail Company delivered letters faster, cheaper, and without the government’s bureaucratic nonsense. Naturally, the state couldn’t handle being outperformed, so they harassed Spooner with legal thuggery until they shut him down in 1851. But Spooner? He went down swinging, exposing the Postal Service for what it was: a monopoly that couldn’t compete in a free market.
This shirt isn’t here to kiss up to the powers that be—it’s here to remind people that Spooner was right. About everything.
Because Spooner didn’t roll over for government bullies, and neither should you. This is for the postal renegades, the monopoly-smashers, and the free-market fanatics who know that competition is the antidote to coercion.
