This 2-inch ratchet strap is a staple in the transportation industry and is commonly used for securing cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles thanks to its shorter length and twisted snap hook hardware. The polyester webbing is rugged yet soft to protect your cargo, while the ratcheting mechanism makes it easy to achieve a tight, secure hold. These straps are highly versatile, bridging the gap between lightweight 1" straps and heavy-duty 4" straps. The polyester webbing provides superior strength with minimal stretch, along with UV and water resistance. Unlike cam straps, ratchets don’t rely solely on operator strength, allowing you to apply the exact amount of tension needed.
These 2" tie down straps feature a longer fixed end than most standard options, positioning the ratchet further from the anchor point for improved access. A sewn loop next to the ratchet provides a convenient spot to store excess webbing—just wrap it up and tuck it into the loop.
The webbing is made with slightly thicker yarn than many competitors and woven with more picks per inch. Each strap end is heat-sealed to resist fraying. These features provide better protection against abrasion, tearing, and cutting, helping these straps last longer.
The zinc-coated ratchet features a short, standard handle designed for working effectively in tight spaces.
Twisted snap hooks are ideal for auto tie downs, easily connecting with axle straps equipped with D-rings. The twisted orientation keeps the strap flat against your cargo for a more secure fit. Each hook is spring-loaded with an automatic closing keeper to ensure a reliable connection.
All of US Cargo Control's ratchet straps are tagged and stenciled with the working load limit to meet FMCSA and DOT regulations, CVSA and WSTDA guidelines, and North American Cargo Securement standards.
Learn more about proper load handling and securement in the WSTDA safety bulletins.
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): "When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation."
