Tokyo-based photographer Mayumi Hosokura is known for capturing nature and youth with a soft, intimate touch. Her work often explores beauty in quiet, personal moments. She’s shown her work in Japan and internationally, including in Rome and Amsterdam.

'KAZAN' is her first photo book, released alongside her solo show at G/P Gallery in Tokyo in 2011. The book brings together images of minerals, flowers, and male nudes—subjects that might feel still or quiet at first glance. But the title KAZAN (which means "volcano" in Japanese) hints at something deeper: a quiet tension between what feels alive and what doesn't.
