Schismatoglottis sp. Mamasa is a rare tropical aroid that originates from regions in Southeast Asia. A member of the same family as Anubias, Bucephalandra, Philodendron, and more, this aroid plant offers uniquely textured leaves that are deep green in color. There isn’t much information known about this specific variation, its care is likely similar to other popular terrestrial and semi-aquatic plants in the same family or genus.
These types of plants are generally hardy and will do well when planted in a well-draining medium, such as a standard aroid mix or even sphagnum moss. Provide a quality plant fertilizer every so often, along with low to moderate indirect light to prevent leaf scorching. We imagine this plant would work beautifully in terrarium-like enclosures or paludarium setups where water sources are nearby, humidity is high, but the plant itself is not submerged.
