Try to place as many pieces as possible on your blanket tableau. Don't just make sure the patch fits, but also take into account the time it takes to fit and the income it generates in knots. Ultimately you get as many points as the number of buttons you have, minus twice the empty spaces on your game board. If you are the first to build a 7 x 7 blanket, you score bonus points!

In Patchwork you don't necessarily have alternating turns. Whoever is behind in time has the turn until his time marker has caught up with the other. This can lead to interesting dilemmas. Should I go for a more expensive piece? Or do I choose two cheaper ones? Because the pieces are always placed around the game board in a different order, no two games are the same.
