Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

Spices

The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Griffon belge specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the Belgian Griffon. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Belgian Griffon belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the Belgian Griffon's health and well-being.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree in the Malus genus, which produces the eating apples, which are particularly common in the Northern Hemisphere. It grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a versatile effect in the digestive tract. It absorbs moisture, making stool soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases intestinal volume. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough elimination of waste.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They're also rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the chunks, and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C supports muscle and bone development during early childhood.

Celery

Celery is a plant in the Apiaceae family. It's often found growing on wet ground along the coast.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and also contains plenty of folate and potassium. It's also fat-free, high in fiber, and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting your dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on their skin and coat, muscle and nerve function (via vitamin A), and maintaining strong bones (via vitamin K).

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant in the heather family. In the Netherlands, it is primarily found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare elsewhere in the country. Originally from North America, the plant is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals like potassium, which helps maintain healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. They're also packed with vitamins A, B, and C, as well as antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, making the bladder environment less conducive to bacteria. Adding cranberries can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fiber in cranberries supports healthy digestion and helps dogs feel full longer.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve function, among other things.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Belgian Griffon dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Belgian Griffon is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For a Belgian Griffon over 7 years old, we recommend Yourdog Belgian Griffon Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Belgian Griffon dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
