Description: Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelians feature patterns etched with a natron solution derived from plants, and then fired at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While similar beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that these particular beads were crafted in the Indus River region and transported overland or by sea.
