Do I need to remove the hood to install this hinge?

Yes. The hinge bolts to the hood from underneath and to the vehicle frame at the fender. Hood removal makes access easier and safer — plan on basic hand tools and a helper or jack setup.

Will this work with my original hood latch?

This hinge is designed to mate with the factory latch and striker on 2002–2009 Ram models. If your latch or striker has been bent or replaced with an aftermarket unit, test fit before final torque.

Does this hinge come with new bolts?
