About Chinese Warring States Beads:

The "Warring States Beads" were created around the 5th to 3rd centuries BCE, before the unification of China under the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glass artifacts, dating from the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, were excavated in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products began to circulate widely. Early Warring States beads were primarily made from faience, a ceramic material decorated with glass patterns. Later on, fully glass beads were also produced. Common designs included "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," characterized by dotted patterns. Although the glass-making techniques and design elements were influenced by Western Asia, particularly Roman glass, the materials used in Chinese glass from this period were distinct, showcasing the advanced glass-making technology of ancient China. These beads are highly valued not only for their historical significance but also for their rich designs and colors, making them popular among collectors.
