"SAPPHIRE COAST" -Photograph of crystalline vitamin B3The deep and varying shades of blue in "Sapphire Coast" contribute to the sense of motion, wind, and water. In this image, Vitamin B3 crystals were grown on a glass microscope slide through evaporation from a solution, and then photographed through a microscope. Vitamin B3 is important for energy metabolism and cell health. The crystal facets produce the colors naturally through the refraction of illuminating light.
